Jan 10th we took our maiden voyage in our schoolie. If you're curious, she's a red and white short bus named Kora. No more than 26' from tip to tail, the living space measures a square 114'. A 1988 Bluebird International, her engine purrs like a kitten. Really, picked a good one.

We drove from Dallas Fort Worth southwest 5 hours to a small town called Junction. The ride down was rather pleasant. Having decided we would only travel during daylight hours (feel better, Granny?), we left Fort Worth at 12 and arrived in Junction with an hour or so of sunlight left.
The nearby attractions (which we haven't seen yet) are The Devil's Sinkhole and YO Ranch. The town stretches maybe two miles across the desert. The RV park is busy but quiet at night. The largest grouping of lights belongs to the nearby truck stops that occupy the space to the left of the Llano River Junction RV Park. They're close but don't obscure the stars above too much.

We're getting used to living in a bus. It's posing some problems we didn't expect as we're teasing out whether or not it's totally do-able. Our final impression though has been that this is exactly the type of life we want to be leading right now. The people we've met have been absolutely wonderful. Amongst them, a couple named Jack and Juanita with a dog named Bill. They're the nicest folks if you ever run into them and have assisted us in ways we didn't anticipate. (Jack recommends RVParkReviews and Juanita suggests potato soup for the crock pot.)
